Job Description
Position Profile
The Legal advisor is in charge of offering counsel and solutions of a general nature and medium difficulty to the OPEC Financial support’s participants and carrying out a range of analysis and logical work all in accordance with the institutional plan and structure, to assist the accomplishment of Private Sector’s long-term targets, strategic targets and yearly targets
Counsel:
Outlines, assessments, modifies and discusses terms the substance of agreements in one or more of the items listed zones: (1) private sector and trade finance loans, which includes the accord for the motivation and protection of investments/structure agreements; and (2) co-funding with other multi-party and two-party financial institutions. Guidance on the implementation and lawful validity of agreements and structured and assessments of external lawful opinions or memoranda Delivers lawful solutions and guidance to the OPEC Financial support’s participants on the development of new private sector lending goods, which includes engaging during planning phase of such goods and lawful matters connected with loan processes. Engages in the missions, board(s) or operating groups of the OPEC Financial support as directed by the General Counsel or as assigned by the President
Analysis and evaluation:
Recognizes concerns of value on lawful matters in any aspect connected with the OPEC Financial support’s processes and executes analysis, evaluation and studies on a variety of lawful concerns, which includes analysis of lawful instruments, and brings them to the attention of the Director, Private Sector-Lawful, together with strategic guidance thereon.
Risk mitigation strategy:
Observes and signals deviations through implementation of frameworks, agreements, rules and methods connected with the lawful/adherence/risks of Private Sector non-sovereign processes, and if necessary, takes corrective measures
Expertise management:
Supports to the development and servicing & maintenance of the expertise assets of the department and the record management operational structures and associated materials. Carries out other duty allocated by the Director, Private Sector-Lawful that are connected with the position processes.
Credentials and Expertise
- MSC in Law and admission to the Bar or equivalent
- At least Five years applicable industry experience, of which 2 years should possess been at an international development finance institution/international law firm
- Fluent in English. Good practical understanding of Arabic, French or Spanish is a plus
