About the Position
We are looking for a highly proficient and business-savvy Legal advisor with proven financial technology expertise to offer lawful direction, minimize risks, and ensure legal adherence across our rapidly growing processes. The preferred candidate will merge in-depth lawful proficiency with a deep knowledge of payment operational structures, financial solutions rules, and the business-related realities of the financial technology industry.
Primary duties
- Offer counsel on a variety of matters, which includes agreements, business oversight, legal adherence, creative ownership, data confidentiality, and job law.
- Prepare, evaluate, and bargain business-related agreements (e.g., merchant agreements, service agreements, collaboration agreements, vendor agreements).
- Advise on Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other applicable compliance obligations affecting financial technology processes.
- Track modifications in legal provisions, rules, and market trends, making sure prompt execution of adherence measures.
- Oversee regulatory exposure by expecting possibility concerns and conceptualizing initiative-driven initiatives.
- Assist conflict management, litigation, and enforcement matters as required.
- Work alongside cross-operational teams (Adherence, Risk, Processes, Sales) to guarantee business targets match with lawful qualifications.
- Educate internal teams on legal & regulatory progress updates affecting the business.
Qualifications
- Bsc in Law (LL.B) from a identified institution; BL certification necessary.
- At least 2 years’ post-call expertise, with experiencein the financial technology, financial solutions, or payments sector.
- Solid understanding of CBN rules, anti-money laundering (AML) qualifications, and information security legal provisions.
- Demonstrated expertise composing and discussing terms sophisticated business-related agreements.
- Clear articulation, bargain, and analytical abilities.
- Capability to operate in a dynamic, high-growth environment with robust meticulousness.
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Affiliation (NBA) necessary; additional specialist qualifications (e.g., ICSAN, CIPP) are a plus
