Finance controller at Obsidian Occident Capital Limited in Ikoyi, Lagos

Role summary

The Finance controller will be accountable for managing the financial health of OBSIDIAN, making sure the firm’s financial processes are handled with precision and creativeness. The preferred candidate will have in-depth specialized skill, with the capability to oversee sophisticated financial methods, in addition to the mentality of a innovative entrepreneur who can design and implement innovative initiatives for financial effectiveness and growth.

Audit & Adherence:

• Head and organize within and outside the organization audits, making sure on-time settlement of audit queries.
• Verify that every statutory, tax, and compliance-related filings are current and conforming with Nigerian financial rules.
• Preserve solid connections with tax governing bodies, auditors, banks, and other key external associates.

Strategic Budgeting:

• Collaborate with executive guidance to design and execute financial plans that match with OBSIDIAN’s growth targets.
• Recognize avenues for cost optimisation and income improvement through innovative financial arranging.
• Design and execute creative financing models and finance Management methods to assist strategic programs.

Credentials & Qualifications

• Bsc in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field (MSC will be an added advantage).
• A member of a professional body: ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent is compulsory.
• At least 7 years’ expertise in a top level finance position, ideally inside financial solutions, financial funding banking, or consultative sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise managing margin accounts, tax financial support management, wage processing, internal regulates, and audits.
• Exceptional logical, organisational, and analytical abilities.
• Robust command of Nigerian tax legal provisions, financial rules, and accounting guidelines.
• Competence in finance platform and improved Number/Excel competencies.
• Innovative outlook with a track document of submitting application innovative mindset to solve financial challenges.
• Capability to thrive in a dynamic, continuously adapting environment and work directly with executive team.
