Role summary

The Finance controller is in charge of safeguarding the financial health of Smartcash PSB by making sure precise, prompt, and conforming finance reporting. The position manages financial planning, accounting, audit, taxation, and financial operational structures, while preserving a robust internal regulate environment. The incumbent will play a vital function in assisting strategic business strategic judgment, making sure adherence with compliance-related frameworks (CBN, IFRS, Companies Act, Banking Rule Act), and pushing operations excellency in finance. 

Legal adherence & Audit:

  • Ensure full adherence with internal regulate frameworks, compliance, and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate with statutory, tax, and internal auditors to guarantee successful and prompt closure of audits.
  • Assurance prompt submitting of all statutory obligations, which includes VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE, and other direct/indirect tax entries.
  • Lead cross-operational adherence with Central Bank of Nigeria and other authorities’ directives.

Team lead & Development:

  • Head, train, and formulate the Finance & Accounts team to attain specialist superiority.
  • Build cross-operational partnership to guarantee efficient dispatch of finance-associated solutions.
  • Advance an environment that fosters responsibility, honesty and reliability, and ongoing development inside the Finance operation.

Related experience:

  • 13–18 years of progressive expertise in finance positions within banking, payments, or financial solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a Finance controller or top level FINCON position in a CBN-controlled bank (compulsory).
  • Robust track document in finance reporting, adherence, audit management, and team lead.

Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of IFRS, CBN standard procedures, and Nigerian tax rules.
  • Competence in Flexcube Banking / Oracle Accounting operational structures.
  • Competence in Ms office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Robust logical and analytical abilities.
