Job Description

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Take good quality chest X-ray images of migrants upon demand by Physicians and/or Sonologist in accordance with IOM and international radiographic guidelines and resettlement countries technical directions. Take the suitable additional chest X-ray views using the standard standardized processes, when requested.
  • Clarify the X-ray examination standardized processes to candidates and response questions. Organize tools’s and examination guest accommodations for use, execute proper ID checking, accurate biodata entry to CR/DR machines and standard labelling of the radiographic images avoiding substitutions.
  • Submit application proper radiographic methods and radiation protection standardized processes during X-ray taking, which includes offering pelvic head shielding for all, double wrap-around head shielding for pregnant woman, positioning of candidates, collimation of X-ray beam, and use of proper X-ray exposure factors, and supervising of candidates during the examinations.
  • Execute proper processing of digital images on CR/DR machine, evaluate the image quality and repeat when the image quality is not acceptable. Documentation significant/immediate information to Radiologists and/or Medical doctor.
  • Support to preserving repeatedly premium quality chest X-rays in the Radiology Unit through proper utilization of radiographic methods, checking and correcting technical quality of the images, compliance to technical qualifications of resettlement countries and development of employees participated in chest X-ray taking. Take the position of quality guarantee focal person for the X-ray Unit, as needed.
  • Engage in making sure the entire radiation safety of the candidates, employees and the public by submitting application the standard radiation protection regulations and rules, routinely wearing personal radiation measurement badges, helping the reading of the personal radiation supervising badge, executing the obligations of radiation protection focal person and sharing information with the respective governing bodies, as needed.
  • Take part in the consistent and prompt QA of the CR/DR X-ray machines through proper managing of machines and consistent checking of tools effectiveness and status updates of concerns at once. 
  • Reach out external and internal technical service vendors regarding servicing & maintenance service and fix of the X-ray tools as needed.
  • Support in optimizing the process in the Radiology Unit through submitting application consistent quality regulate and advancement of the standard operating standardized processes which includes recognition standardized processes and accuracy of records entry to guarantee quick, accurate, and smooth X-ray processing and prompt dispatch of chest X-ray images and documentation.
  • Organize routine worklists, barcodes, check the identity of candidates, radiographic counselling, uploading digital Chest X-rays images to e-Medical website, and/or burning images on CDs.
  • Organize statistical overview documentation on business initiatives of the Radiology Unit, record any other information and properly keep records as needed.
  • Liaise with the Sonologist and/or Teleradiology Centers for the reading of the chest X-rays, take the position of the Country Workspace’s focal person for managing the radiology chest X-ray reading process and offer the chest X-ray documentation to the panel physicians as needed.
  • Support in executing infection regulate measures and preserving a tidy and neat work environment in the Radiology Unit.
  • Suggest additional measures to enhance the quality, speed or safety of the radiological standardized processes as needed. 
  • Execute any other obligations as may be allocated

Expertise:

  • Operating expertise in radiography, especially Chest X-Ray, expertise of  digital radiologymachine  necessary;
  • Current specialist permit/Board certification as per the country’s requirement;
  • Good computer ability, especially in Excel spreadsheet software and Word is crucial;
  • Expertise and expertise in radiology information operational structures and Picture archiving and information exchange operational structures (PACS) a plus; and,
  • Expertise in screening chest X-ray a plus.
