Job Description

Responsibility

The Fleet Supervisor manages the day-to-day activities of a vehicle fleet, making sure productive and prompt haulage solutions for customers, with a concentration on coordinating every facet of fleet management and supplying solutions in industries which includes cold chain logistics and for customers like Nigerian Breweries.

Key Effectiveness Zones

  • Optimized revenue through fulfilment of orders by making sure trip targets are accomplished.
  • Synchronization of Transport & Logistics Processes.
  • Make sure that loading orders are fulfilled (EDD) and goods loaded are fulfilled to suitable destinations only and inform on ensued progress updates while enroute and when fulfilled.
  • Ensures Loaded trucks/Trips are current on i-manager and trips are terminated after finalization.
  • Track the service mileage of allocated trucks to guarantee servicing inside the authorized limits.
  • Make sure that the total tonnage of inventory loaded by customers does not exceed the tonnage capacity of each truck.
  • Ensure trucks are moving according to prescribed speed limits and escalates violation.
  • Ensure periodic capturing of trips within customer’s site on a routine/on a weekly basis and every month basis.
  • Ensure pre and post trip update of dispatch officers.
  • Carry out toolbox meeting to guarantee safe standard of process.
  • Coordinate with Customers’ employees, Site Officers to organize-out business concerns that may arise from time to time.
  • Proper assessment of allocated trucks, trailers, vehicle accessories and documents, and safety kits to guarantee safe and productive dispatch.
  • Ensure prompt recordkeeping of all incidents, accidents, and coverage requests inside the allocated fleet to attain minimal non-operational time.
  • Make sure that all truck recordkeeping and accessories are up to dates, to reduce time and in transit setbacks.
  • Use tracking operational base to track and documentation routine role and routine initiatives of trucks to attain on time dispatch, trip cycle days, upgraded drivers’ productivity, good trucking turnover and customer satisfaction.
  • Make sure that suitable fuel is issued on i-manager to trucks for dispatch task based on authorized chart and fuel usage.
  • Guarantee promptness collection of PODs from the customer.
  • Report to higher support tier key concerns to the Top level Fleet Supervisor.
  • Produce and preserve fleet files.
  • Oversee fleet capacity on diesel usage and issuance with and precise adherence of records.
  • Any other obligations as may be allocated by the Top level Fleet Managers.
  • Guarantee adherence with all health, accident and threat control rules and rules.
  • Ensure dispatch officers are fully kitted with PPE while in-field and on the road.

Credentials Necessary

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher national diploma in Sciences or any Community-related Science no less than Second-Class lower / minimum lower credit.
  • Accredited in Logistics, Transportation & Allocation (CLTD).
  • Accredited in Transportation & Logistics (CILT).
  • Accredited Stock Chain Specialist (CSCP).
