Project Explanation

• Northeast Nigeria is at present facing an expanding humanitarian crisis with a vast number of Internally Displaced Persons in need of crisis support.
• These IDPs are living among organizer networks, lacking entry to livelihoods and assets, ultimately top to unprecedented levels of malnutrition and food insecurity.
• FHI 360 possesses been operating in Nigeria for over 30 years and responded to the humanitarian crisis in the NE for five years.
• In expectation of a new project, and in assist of ongoing ones, FHI360 looks for an skilled Guard Manager to assist our response to the humanitarian crisis in NE Nigeria.            

Basic Operation

The Guard Manager will discharge his/her task under the direct authority and technical direction of the FHI 360 Guard Director Nigeria. The candidate will also collaborate with the Response Organizer and Directors/Managers of any other projects in the Northeast as directed. The Guard Manager will collaborate with other Guard Focal Persons on projects in the Northeast to guarantee that FHI 360 programs, employees and assets remain safe and secure from threats.

Position Objective

• The Guard Manager will offer assistance in development, execution of safety & guard plan for projects based in the Northeast and daily guard management.
• The candidate will also offer assistance to the Guard Director on management of employees accident and threat control concerns which will strive to assist FHI 360 programme execution.
• The candidate will work across current and new programs in Northeast and may be called to assist other regions as may be necessary.

Guard Consciousness:

• Offer improve guard guidance, guard update to employees and visitors to respective States, ensure strategies for tracking arrival, exit and accommodation
• Prepare guard advisories with guidance on risk reduction for circulation by the Guard Manager or appointee and general circumstance, specific incidents and periods of heightened threat.
• Carry out periodic update to Managers/Managers and all employees keeping them up-dated on guard progress updates and/or risks that may affect FHI 360 processes and make strategic guidance to reduce risks.
• In conjunction with the Guard Manager, supply applicable guard development sessions.
• Ensure FHI 360 employees and visitors comprehend and behave in accordance to the Standard operating standardized processes, contingency strategies and guard briefings

Update and De-Concise:

• Visitors – Formulate and supply site specific accident and threat control briefings for all visitors on operating circumstance
• New Employee Update – Supply guard onboarding on personal safety, entities guard management structure, use of information exchange tools (VHF, HF, Satellite phone)
• Post-system issue debriefs – de-update employees /visitors participated in guard incidents and assist in psychosocial assist in addition to recognizing medical assist.

Relocation & Evacuation:

Strategy for both guard and medical evacuation for all sites and formulate evacuation strategy which includes positions, relocated employees, collection points, routes etc.
