Role summary
A strategic and skilled Building Chief operator accountable for managing all phases of building projects—from organizing and financial planning to implementation and finalization. The position ensures prompt, cost-efficient dispatch with high guidelines excellent quality and safety, requiring effective guidance and competence in structure projects which includes buildings, roads, water operational structures, and power structure
Primary duties
- Formulate and execute thorough project strategies, which includes timelines, financial plans, and asset distribution for the dispatch of various structure projects at the same time.
- Oversee and organize building teams, subcontractors, suppliers, advisors, and other participants to guarantee alignment and productive project implementation.
- Supervise initiative financial planning, predicting, and financial regulates to guarantee cost effectiveness.
- Guarantee adherence with statutory lawful legal provisions, ecological rules, safety guidelines, and customer qualifications.
- Track building tracking and modify plans and assets as necessary.
- Promote solid connections with regulatory bodies, compliance-related bodies, customers, and other participants.
- Oversee the procurement of materials, tools, and solutions.
- Recognize promise risks to projects and formulate risk reduction plans.
- Ensure the execution excellent quality regulate and health & safety rules in-field
- Offer strategic executive guidance and guidance to PMs, engineers, architects, and on-site supervisors.
- Carry out scheduled meetings with the project team to evaluate advancement, handle hurdles, and make sure that targets are being met.
- Organize and show consistent documentation on project status, risks, and achievements to senior management.
- Preserve current expertise in market trends, guidelines, and industry standards.
Credentials & Expertise
- Bsc in Civil Engineering, Building Management, or relevant field (MSC or PMP will be an added advantage).
- At least 15–18 years of progressive expertise in building management, with a minimum of 5 years in a executive team position.
- Demonstrated expertise coordinating large-scale structure projects (building, roads, bridges, airports, energy, water operational structures, etc.).
- Solid understanding of Nigerian building codes, rules, and procurement operational structures.
- Outstanding executive guidance, information exchange, and bargaining ability.
- Capability to oversee various projects under pressure and within tight due dates.
- Skilled in building project coordination software and resources (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
- Understanding with international project coordination guidelines (e.g., FIDIC, ISO, World Bank/IFC standard procedures) is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of building methods management.
- Robust financial strategic insight and expertise with financial plan management.
