Job Description
Objective of Position
To offer engineering guidance for the efficient and productive management of the consolidation and Trade division of the AU.
Main Processes
- Manages employees of the division with regard to company and performance check;
- Directs the design of plans and rules regular with the Directorates targets in order to handle the pertinent concerns in the applicable area;
- Supports to the development of the directorates business continuity strategy and ensures the execution at division level;
- Ensures the suitable risk mitigation strategy and risk reduction plans for the division;
- Directs the design and strategies regulatory framework programs to attain the necessary plans;
- Conceptualizes new and expand on current initiatives as parts of the plans and rules;
- Ensures the division makes inputs into regulatory framework formulation in line with consolidation and trade plans of the AU.
- Ensures the project setup of the yearly action strategy and its corresponding assets for the division.
- Engages participants within Members States and RECs in designing and executing plans;
- Speaks for the company and clarify its role at professional forums. Mobilise financing from all donors to use to implement plans and initiatives;
- Supports to the project setup of periodic financial and financial plan implementation documentation and observes financial plan implementation at division level.
Specific Duties:
- Arranges the execution of the African consolidation schedule which includes participating/arranging technical Synchronization Board sessions of the AUC and RECs in readiness for of the Synchronization Summit meeting of Heads of States and Government;
- Arranges the commencement and formulation of rules, program and projects targeted at supporting African unification workflow in addition to trade and market consolidation among African Member States;
- Arranges and manages the project setup of technical documentation and analysis papers on ongoing worldwide concerns and their possibility implications on trade patterns and African unification workflow, in particular, operating closely with AU Member States, RECs and other primary ally institutions;
- Directs the formulation and management of key rules and program of economic evaluation and those targeted at optimizing continental and regional consolidation in line with ACFTA and AU Schedule 2063 in close partnership with Member States and RECs;
- Arranges the recognition of new and emerging international trade concerns, regarding Member States, RECs, UNECA, WTO, UNCTAD, AfDB in addition to other primary stakeholders;
- Liaises with Analysis and Regulatory framework Division to arrange sessions for Expert Technical Board on Finance, Monetary Affairs, Economic Organizing and Consolidation in addition to initiatives of the F-15 Ministers in close partnership with the Finance director;
- Directs the project setup and distribution of the AU Flagship publications and regulatory framework papers on regional consolidation and trade, Status of Regional Consolidation, African Consolidation and Development Transaction entry; Consolidation bulletin and continental Consolidation booklet;
- Manages employees economists undertaking technical documentation in zones of regional consolidation and trade;
- Manages all economic studies and evaluation on regional consolidation and trade matters;
- Arranges the project setup of speeches and consistent summaries for lead personnel and makes demonstrations on economic concerns for expert or non-expert target groups on regional consolidation and trade;
- Delivers regulatory framework guidance, robust intellectual direction and direction on concerns of maintainable structural economic transformation and development;
- Arranges program designed to assist accelerate the region's consolidation with worldwide full operational cycles;
- Manages the advancement of execution of initiatives of the Division;
- Executes any other associated task as may be allocated by the Director.

Tenure Of Assignment
The assignment will be made on a consistent term agreement for a period of three (3) years, of which the first twelve months shall be assessed as a probationary period.
