Job Description

Circumstance

Under the direct oversight of the Protection/MHPSS Program Manager and closely managing with other MHPSS employees. The incumbent will assist the execution of Protection and MHPSS initiatives in Plateau, Kaduna, and Taraba states through synchronization, status updates and logistics assist.

Duties

  • Assist the execution of project initiatives inside the allocated sites, which includes helping with logistics, recordkeeping, and synchronization of MHPSS and protection initiatives.
  • Help in preserving operating connection possessing applicable line ministries, agencies, donors, CSOs, and private company to coordinate positive result for recipients.
  • Assist the dispatch of MHPSS interventions in the site by helping with logistics, project setup of materials, involvement in group initiatives, and recordkeeping of sessions, which includes merger of activity documentation, under the direction of the Program Manager and specialists. 
  • Coordinate possessing applicable participants which includes government actors, UN agencies, Nonprofit organizations and civil society in engagement to ongoing project initiatives, which includes participating sector operating group sessions when requested.
  • Assist M&E endeavors to strengthen Responsibility to Affected Population (AAP) mechanisms, which includes response operational structures, grievance managing.
  • Advance the consolidation of cross-cutting concerns which includes protection, gender, child protection, counter trafficking and other themes in the execution of initiatives.
  • Perform responsibility commute to project sites as necessary.
  • Execute other obligations as allocated by the manager.

Expertise:

Expertise in a similar assist position, ideally inside the humanitarian or development situations.  Understanding with local networks, institutions, and participants in the allocated regions.

Competencies:

  • Robust people skills and capability to establish efficient operating relations with teammates, associates, and networks.
  • Good logical and verbal abilities
  • Capability to carry out duty, show plan and prioritize initiatives. 
  • Expertise in community-related and development concerns in Nigeria, especially in the allocated states. 
  • Good documentation skilled in writing

Languages:

  • Practical understanding of the local language.
  • IOM’s formal languages are English, French and Spanish.
  • Competence of language(s) necessary will be particularly assessed during the selection process, which may comprise of documented and/or spoken communication evaluations.
