Material Examiner at Desicon Engineering Limited in Port Harcourt, Rivers

About the Position

We are looking for a highly meticulous and skilled Material Examiner to join our QA and Quality assurance (Quality assurance/Quality control) team. As part of a top EPC organisation, you will be in charge of making sure that all incoming materials adhere with project requirements, codes, and quality benchmarks before they are accepted for use. This position plays a critical part in preserving the honesty and reliability, reliability, and safety of our engineering and building projects.

Primary duties

• Examine and confirm the quality and requirements of incoming materials, tools, and parts.
• Evaluate Material Test Certifications (MTCs), Mill Certifications, and other associated recordkeeping for adherence with project and industry guidelines.
• Carry out graphics inspections, dimensional checks, and recognize any non-conformities.
• Organize with procurement, warehouse, and technical groups to guarantee proper material managing and traceability.
• Track material storage and preservation terms in line with project.
• Increase and oversee Non-Conformance Documentation (NCRs) and check in on corrective actions.
• Preserve proper records and assessment data records for traceability and audits.
• Guarantee adherence with international codes and guidelines (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ISO).
• Help in internal and third-party audits as necessary.

Qualifications

• Certification or Bsc in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or associated discipline).
• Demonstrated expertise as a Material Examiner in an EPC or large-scale industrial project environment.
• Solid understanding excellent quality regulate standardized processes, material requirements, and industry codes.
• Understanding with Quality assurance/Quality control recordkeeping and operational structures (e.g., ITPs, MTCs, assessment documentation).
• Accreditation in applicable Quality assurance/Quality control fields (e.g., CSWIP, NACE, API, ISO 9001 Head Audit officer) is a plus.
• Outstanding meticulousness and analytical abilities.
