Job Description
Position Overview
- We are looking for a devoted and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team.
- The preferred candidate will play a vital function in monitoring the financial health and plan of the law firm.
- This role is in charge of coordinating financial planning, predicting, finance reporting, and adherence, while making sure the firm’s financial processes match with its strategic targets.
- The Finance Manager will collaborate with associates, the Practice Manager, department heads, external auditors and participants to offer financial findings that assist strategic judgment and lead profit margin.
- This position requires robust critical thinking, an comprehension of lawful invoicing procedures, and expertise in finance Management within a specialist solutions environment.
Finance reporting:
Organize and show precise and prompt balance sheet and income statement for ALP Group. Produce every quarter financial statements for associates, highlighting performance indicators and practices.
Expense management:
Evaluate and regulate operating expenditures, recognizing zones for cost savings and effectiveness enhancements. Offer findings into the profit margin of different practice zones or customer accounts.
Treasury Management:
- Oversee the firm's money movement, making sure sufficient liquidity for daily processes.
- Recognize suppliers in which excess capital can be channelled into, to produce interest.
- Organize with associates to handle any money movement hurdles and enhance operating capital.
Financial Adherence:
Guarantee adherence with legal & regulatory financial qualifications. Work alongside external auditors to coordinate yearly audits and handle any audit-associated matters.
Tax Organizing and Adherence:
Formulate and execute tax plans to enhance the firm's tax role. Stay informed about modifications in tax legal provisions and rules affecting the lawful industry.
Team Management:
Head and oversee the accounting team, offering direction and assist. Promote a cooperative and high-effectiveness work environment.
Credentials
- Bsc in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a relevant field.
- ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accounting officer of Nigeria) (ACA or FCA), and/or ACCA (Affiliation of Chartered Accredited Accounting officer) accreditation is compulsory.
- 7 - 8 years post certification work expertise (ideally in finance/ accounting positions).
- A MSC (Master of business administration or Master's degree) in Finance or Accounting is a plus.
- Competence in financial system (e.g. Xero) and Ms office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, finance reporting, and tax rules.
- Outstanding logical, issue resolution, and planning abilities.
- Robust meticulousness and precision.
- Capability to operate independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Clear articulation and people skills.
