Position Overview
The Financial officer is in charge of assisting the daily financial processes of the bank, which includes transaction processing, document keeping, adjustments, and project setup of financial statements. The position ensures precision, adherence, and prompt status updates in line with, CBN standard procedures, and Bank rules.
Primary duties
- Document routine financial financial record and preserve proper financial records.
- Help in the project setup of balance sheet and income statement and management documentation.
- Carry out routine, on a weekly basis, and every month adjustments of bank accounts and ledgers.
- Expenditure supervising.
- Process payments, bills, and employees refunds in line with authorization methods.
- Track earnings and spending to guarantee precise posting into the system.
- Help in the project setup of compliance-related documentation to CBN, NDIC, FIRS, and other governing bodies.
- Offer assistance during within and outside the organization audits by collating necessary documents.
- Execute any other finance-associated obligations as allocated by the Finance Manager.
Credentials & Expertise
- Bachelor's degree / Higher national diploma in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, or associated discipline.
- Specialist certification is a plus.
- At least 2–3 years’ expertise in finance, accounting, or relevant position.

- Robust quantitative and critical thinking.
- Competence in Excel spreadsheet software and financial system.
- Good meticulousness and precision.
- Robust corporate and schedule control competencies.
- Honesty and reliability, secrecy, and competence.
- Capability to operate with minimal oversight.
