Role Overview

We are looking for an Inland Feature lead to serve as the bridge between Zone Sales and Processes, with the objective of rising lucrative inland volume and optimizing the inland product project sample. The position includes conceptualizing the Zone Inland plan and defining Zone-level inland goals (volumes, profit margin, inland distribute, etc.) in alignment with Regional Inland targets, Sales, Processes, and Trade Management.

Primary duties

  • Lead recognition and development of applicable inland goods (which includes premium solutions) in partnership with Sales and Processes.
  • Collect market response from Zone Inland processes and comprise of transport product needs in the concluding presenting.
  • Recognize inland value propositions and assist Sales with product information.
  • Fulfill the role of primary point of reach out for Account Managers on inland product-associated queries.
  • Offer key focuses and business-related goals to Procurement and assist SLA definitions for transport vendors.
  • Establish inland network plan through evaluation of underserved/overserved sites, capacity, and tools levels.
  • Own capacity requirement predicting documentation and actively oversee accessibility and utilization.
  • Outline procurement options for fixed capacities (from negotiating to possibility M&A).
  • Evaluate fixed capacity qualifications using business and business-related data.
  • Assist Procurement in vendor recognition, talks, and growth of vendor base.
  • Strategy and oversee strategic vendor connections.

Credentials & Competencies

  • Academic qualification or business-related development in Business, Sales, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of expertise in shipping/container steering.
  • Profile in trucking/transmitting industry firmly preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with robust client-focused approach.
  • Expertise in trucking processes and product development for trucking corridors.
  • Expertise operating in Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, and Angola (advantage).
  • Assertive negotiator with meticulousness.
  • Team player with initiative-driven mindset; capable to operate under pressure and deliver on time.
  • Robust documented English; French is a plus.
  • Competence in Microsoft applications; expertise in port-based operational structures (Navis, ICUMS, etc.) and recordkeeping.
  • Capability to oversee various operational structures and analyze data productively.
  • Deep knowledge of inland transport and ocean shipping markets.
  • Expertise with inland transport effectiveness measurement.
  • Clear articulation competencies, which includes management-level status updates and participant relation.

Compensation

Expat: $108,000 yearly (gross) Local: $51,000 yearly (gross).
