About the Position
- We pursue an skilled, honesty and reliability-driven, and outcomes-oriented Farm operations manager to head our nursery and tree farm processes.
- The successful applicant will supervise comprehensive farm management, making sure the highest guidelines in plant health, quality, and generation effectiveness.
- They will also productively head both proficient and semi-proficient teams, submitting application the right management methods to get the best effectiveness from the staff.
Team lead & Development:
- Oversee and organize nursery and site employees, allocating duty and supervising effectiveness.
- Offer learning on plant care, nursery hygiene, safe chemical managing, and tools process.
- Promote a safe, efficient, and self-controlled organizational culture.
Asset & Stock Management:
- Oversee stock of seeds, saplings, fertilisers, resources, and irrigation tools.
- Supervise procurement and ensure cost-efficient use of farm inputs with minimal wastage.
- Preserve nursery structure, which includes greenhouses, irrigation operational structures, and storage facilities.
QA & Project Assist:
- Verify that every plants meet defined quality, size, and health guidelines before dispatch.
- Work alongside landscaping and sales teams to meet delivery schedules and fulfil customer orders.
- Organize plant project setup for dispatch, which includes labelling, cleaning, and wrapping.
Credentials & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Higher national diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Crop Science, Forestry, or a associated discipline.
- At least 5 years’ demonstrated expertise coordinating a nursery or horticultural farm in Nigeria.
- Exhibited honesty and reliability and robust professional conduct.
- Solid understanding of propagation methods (seed, cutting, grafting, transplanting).
- Understanding with ornamental, indigenous, and exotic plant species in the Southwest region.
- Established leadership competencies to oversee both proficient and semi-proficient teams productively.
- Skilled in basic farm admin systems or mobile applications for recordkeeping.
- Must be capable to lead both a motorbike and a vehicle, with a valid driver’s licence.
- Readiness to live in or relocate to Owode-Ofada, Ogun State.
Preferred:
Fluency in English and Yoruba. Expertise operating with landscapers, estate developers, and ecological advisors.
