Overview

To strengthen this holistic method in Nigeria, GAC is looking for a HDP Nexus Technical officer will offer strategic, technical, and programmatic assist to both development and humanitarian portfolios. This position is critical in supporting a coherent, aligned, and gender-responsive Nexus approach across Canada's relation in Nigeria.

The Position

The FSSP will engage a local Humanitarian, Development, and Peace Nexus Technical officer on a part-time basis to offer IT assistance to GAC in progressing humanitarian and development programs in Nigeria.

Programme Design & QA:

• Offer technical input to HDP Nexus consolidation in programme design and execution.
• Ensure consolidation of dispute sensitivity, gender-responsive, adaptability-building, and local ownership plans into programs.
• Coordinate the transition from humanitarian relief to development in dispute-affected zones.
• Evaluate work collaboratively proposals and assist supervising endeavors.

Skills:

• Solid understanding of Nigeria's dispute, political, and socio-economic landscape, especially in the Northeast, North Central, and Northwest.
• Demonstrated expertise submitting application combined humanitarian, development, and peace approaches in fragile or dispute-affected settings.
• Capability to submit application dispute-sensitive, peace-responsive, and Do No Harm principles in programming.
• Expertise designing or coordinating multi-sectoral programs with donor financing (e.g., USDA, FCDO, EU, UNDP).
• Understanding with Nigeria's peacebuilding and transitional justice frameworks.
• Outstanding documented and spoken communication competencies, with the capability to offer regulatory framework guidance and coordinate partnership.
• Adaptable and initiatives-oriented, with the capability to navigate sophisticated and rapidly continuously adapting situations.
• Expertise operating with ethnically and culturally multifaceted networks.
• Respect for diversity and robust dedication to localization and member-led approaches.
