We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Coverage Officer to oversee all coverage-associated initiatives and protect the organization’s assets, processes, and staff.

Role description

The Coverage Officer will be in charge of coordinating the organization’s coverage project sample, making sure adequate coverage for all organizational processes, managing requests, coordinating with with coverage vendors, and mitigating risks to ensure protection of the company’s interests.

Primary duties

• Oversee and evaluate all coverage rules (marine cargo, goods-in-transit, real estate, coldroom tools, fire, life, and health coverage).
• Carry out risk evaluations for organisation processes and endorse suitable benefits package.
• Coordinate and bargain with coverage brokers, underwriters, and adjusters to secure favorable terms.
• Guarantee promptness agreement extension of coverage rules to prevent coverage differences.
• Organize, send, and check in on requests to guarantee prompt settlement.
• Preserve complete records of rules, requests, and correspondence.
• Teach and mentor management and employees on coverage terms, obligations, and methods.
• Guarantee adherence with Nigerian coverage legal provisions and compliance obligations.
• Advise management on risk mitigation strategy plans to reduce exposure to losses.

Credentials & Competencies

• Higher national diploma / Bachelor's degree Academic qualification in Coverage, Risk mitigation strategy, Finance, Business Management, or relevant field.
• At least 3 – 5 years of expertise in corporate coverage management.
• A member of a professional body which includes ACIIN (Associate, Chartered Coverage Institute of Nigeria) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of coverage goods applicable to FMCG, importation, and coldroom processes.
• Clear articulation, bargain, and people skills.
• High meticulousness and robust document-keeping abilities.
• Honesty and reliability, secrecy, and robust professional conduct.
