Role summary
- We are looking for a meticulous and initiative-driven Import Processes Officer to oversee the comprehensive import processes of our organisation.
- As an Import Processes Officer, you will be in charge of managing with suppliers, logistics vendors, and compliance-related governing bodies to guarantee prompt and conforming importation of goods.
- The preferred candidate will possess a deep knowledge of international trade, legal adherence, and stock chain processes, with a concentration on precision, effectiveness, and smooth synchronization.
Duties
- Implement every facet of the organization’s import processes, which includes managing with all the applicable participants, which includes but not limited to suppliers, shipping lines, clearing agents, authorities, and internal participants.
- Process all necessary compliance-related licenses and permits for imported goods (which includes NCS Efficient Track / AEO Licenses, NAFDAC Import Licenses, SON Import Licenses, Form Ms, and Pre-Arrival Evaluation Documentation), coordinating with with governmental agencies to guarantee adherence possessing applicable rules.
- Assist the project setup, entry, and management of Letters of Credit (LCs) in synchronization with Finance.
- Evaluate and confirm all import associated recordkeeping, which includes bills, invoices of lading, customs announcements, customs obligations, and import permits, making sure precision and thoroughness.
- Track and track shipments to guarantee on-time completion.
- Organize with shipping lines and terminals to guarantee precise and prompt billing and receipting.
- Work alongside clearing agents to coordinate productive customs clearance and settle any import-associated concerns or setbacks, to guarantee smooth dispatch of goods.
- Strategy and organize the transportation and movement of goods and settle any logistics concerns.
- Organize Exchange Regulate Documents and other necessary recordkeeping for legal adherence for each shipment.
- Preserve precise records of all import financial record and guarantee adherence with organisation rules and trade rules.
- Guarantee adherence with supporting customs rules, trade legal provisions, and import qualifications. - Recognize and minimize possibility risks connected with import processes, trade legal provisions, and import qualifications, and report to higher support tier internally as necessary.
- Stay informed on modifications in import rules, trade legal provisions, and standardized best practices, and convey status reports to applicable team members
Skills
- Bsc in Stock Chain Management, Business Management, or a relevant field preferred, but not required.
- Proven work expertise as an Import Processes Officer, Import Organizer, or in a similar position within a stock chain or international trade environment.
- Solid understanding of import rules, customs rules and standardized processes, and international shipping methods.
- Outstanding corporate, schedule control, and handling multiple responsibilities competencies.
- Robust meticulousness and precision in recordkeeping and status updates.
- Clear communication and people skills for managing with internal teams and external participants.
- Issue resolution and critical thinking to expect and settle business hurdles.
- Capability to operate independently, assign priorities to tasks, and deliver on time.
- Honesty and reliability and discretion in managing sensitive and private information.
- Competence in Office productivity software (Excel, Word, Outlook) and applicable stock chain software.
