Fiber Network Design Technician at MacTay Consulting in Ikeja, Lagos

Position Overview

This position is critical to designing premium quality FTTx (FTTH, FTTB) and backbone fiber networks that are ability to scale, dependable, and cost-efficient. You will collaborate with cross-operational teams to strategize design, and record network builds using Geographic information system and AutoCAD-based resources.

Duties

• Design comprehensive fiber optic networks, which includes FTTH, FTTB, and long-haul/backbone routes.
• Produce precise route strategies and thorough network drawings using AutoCAD, Geographic information system
• (QGIS/ArcGIS), and other mapping resources.
• Enhance network designs for capacity, redundancy, and minimal civil work expenses.
• Analyze survey data and transform it into technical design results.
• Organize Invoice of Quantities (BoQs), splicing strategies, and route maps for execution teams.
• Guarantee adherence with internal guidelines and standardized best practices.
• Assist project organizing and execution teams with design explanations when needed.

Qualifications

• Interested applicants should have an Higher national diploma / Bsc
• At least 2 years of expertise in fiber network design.
• Competence in AutoCAD and Geographic information system resources (QGIS, ArcGIS, or equivalent).
• Deep knowledge of FTTx architecture, fiber topology, and visual design rules.
• Knowledgeable about design qualifications for civil works, ducting, manholes, and pole routes.
• Capability to evaluate survey documentation and site data to mentor designs
• Meticulousness and precision in generating system manuals
• Clear articulation and collaborative ability.
