Job Description

Position Overview

  • The Store Manager will be in charge of the productive and secure management of the factory's store, encompassing the stock of unedited materials, wrapping, and finished plastic goods.
  • This position is critical for making sure a smooth stock chain, from the receipt of goods to the dispatch of finished goods.
  • The preferred candidate will be a Nigerian national with a solid experience in inventory control and logistics management within a production operations environment, presenting outstanding executive guidance and planning abilities.

Warehouse & Stores Processes:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, which includes the receiving, assessment, storage, and issuance of all materials.
  • Enhance warehouse layout and storage standardized processes to optimize space and ensure easy entry to materials.
  • Supervise the loading and offloading of trucks, making sure proper recordkeeping (e.g., Waybills, GRNs - Goods Received Notes) is finished and validated.
  • Ensure adherence to rigid health, safety, and ecological (HSE) guidelines inside the store to protect employees and materials, in adherence with Nigerian rules.

Team lead & Development:

  • Head, educate, and train store staff (e.g., storekeepers and material handlers) to guarantee they are skilled in their obligations and follow organisation rules.
  • Assign duty productively and carry out effectiveness appraisals for the store team.
  • Promote an environment that fosters responsibility, collaboration, and ongoing development inside the store.

Status updates & Management:

Produce and send complete documentation on stock levels, material usage, inventory variances, and other key effectiveness indicators (KPIs) to the factory operation manager or top level management. Verify that every managerial duty, which includes recordkeeping and document-keeping, are carried out precisely and on time.

Credentials

  • Education: A Bsc or HND qualification (Higher national diploma) in Stock Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, or a associated discipline.
  • Nationality: Nigerian
  • Expertise:
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated expertise in a similar position, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a leadership or executive capacity.
  • Demonstrable expertise operating inside the production operations or plastic industry in Nigeria is a significant advantage.

Competencies:

  • Competence in stock management software and robust computer competencies, especially with Ms office tools (Excel).
  • Outstanding executive guidance, information exchange, and people skills.
  • Robust logical and issue resolution abilities.
  • Deep understanding of warehousing industry standards, safety guidelines, and stock chain methods.
  • A high level of honesty and reliability, transparency, and responsibility is crucial.
  • Residency in or proximity to Ikenne, Ogun State, or the capability to relocate, is essential.
