Job Description

Purpose / Targets

The WATSAN Officer, based in Gusau with consistent visits to sites like Anka and Talata Mafara, documentation to the WATSAN Supervisory role. Employees shall therefore be capable and ready to mobilize and commute instantly to remote and guard sensitive sites, operating within tight SI guard procedures. In charge of top and directing service providers and routine workers in the execution of projects, respecting due dates and technical requirements, guidelines and qualifications. The candidate will work in harmony with the other officers (Shelter Officer, Hygiene awareness Officers). The core positions of this role engage carrying out site and thorough technical evaluations, composing design bundles and resources, directing service providers and routine workers, getting ready on a weekly basis activity strategies, development workers and mobilizers, lifting requisitions, organizing on a weekly basis activity documentation, and making sure the archival of project responsibility documents.

Execution and Supervising:

  • Track technical initiatives for adherence with SI guidelines and SPHERE at least guidelines.
  • Ensure the building and/or servicing & maintenance of building work, which includes staff hiring process and development.
  • Assign in-field staff according to supervisory role's directions.
  • Carry out work according to technical design, standard procedures, and estimates.
  • Oversee business teams, service providers, and networks, making sure most effective asset utilization.
  • Arrange, strategize and oversee group involvement during activity execution.
  • Expect and propose initiatives for any challenges linked to activity management.
  • Oversee worksite materials stock in partnership with the logistics department.
  • Documentation on the state of decentralized inventory on sites to the manager, project and/or supervisory role.
  • Engage in the assessment of the technical skilled of service providers.
  • Establish accident and threat control measures for each activity, making sure adherence.

Profile Forsaken

  • Studies: At least Bachelor's degree/ND in Civil Engineering, Water or Sanitation Engineering, Geology Or Hydrology.
  • Expertise: 2 years’ related experience in a similar role with NGO
  • Language: English, Hausa compulsory and one of the local dialects is a plus.
  • IT: Good expertise in CAD Software (Auto CAD Archi CAD etc) and should show reliable competence in MS Workspace applications—especially Word, PowerPoint and improved Excel.
  • Specialized abilities: good expertise in project cycle, project execution and project client engagement. Expertise executing WASH Infrastructural projects
  • Transversal Competencies: Applicant should be dependable, truthful, and responsible, with the capability to oversee stress productively. A team player with robust technical skilled.
