Business Development Officer – Maritime Network access at an Engineering Company - Myrtle Management Consultants Limited in Port Harcourt, Rivers

Role summary

Our customer is looking for a initiative-driven and results-focused Business Development Officer to boost expansion in their Maritime Network access solutions. The successful applicant will be in charge of building customer connections, recognizing new commercial opportunities, and assisting the development of tailored initiatives that meet the unique network access needs of the maritime sector.

Primary duties

• Recognize and pursue new commercial opportunities in the maritime network access market.
• Build and preserve solid connections with shipping companies, remote marine operations operators, and maritime service vendors.
• Help in conceptualizing and executing business promotion & sales plans to attain income targets.
• Organize proposals, quotations, and demonstrations for potential customers.
• Carry out market analysis to grasp market trends, emerging technical solutions, and rival offerings.
• Collaborate with technical teams to guarantee proposed initiatives match with customer needs.
• Engage in industry events, exhibitions, and relationship building avenues to advance the organization’s offerings.

Credentials

• Bsc in Business, Promotion, Maritime Studies, or a relevant field.
• At least 2 years’ expertise in sales, business development, or customer relations (maritime or telecommunications expertise is a plus).
• Expertise in satellite communications, VSAT operational structures, and maritime network access initiatives is preferred.
• Clear articulation, interpersonal, and bargaining ability.
• Self-driven with the capability to operate independently and jointly.
• Readiness to commute as necessary.
