Position Overview
The Divisional Chief, Procurement is in charge of top the dispatch of expert procurement initiatives to external customers, with a concentration on optimizing value through planned procurement, cost optimization, and stock chain effectiveness.
Primary duties
- Establish & supply procurement plan for internal business units and external customers, pushing cost effectiveness, new service lines, and customer purchase through RFP/pitch-guided go‑to-market development.
- Supervise the full procurement lifecycle: diagnostics, category plan, RFQ, negotiating, supplier orientation, and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) implementation, which includes handled‑solutions coverage for customers under SLA frameworks.
- Head category management and procurement decisions, submitting application methods which includes planned procurement, spend evaluation, and supplier segmentation.
- Bargain and framework supplier agreements, making sure best-in-class pricing, quality, dispatch, creative invention, and binding terms for both internal use and customer support offerings.
- Lead supplier connection management (SRM): segment vendor bases, execute effectiveness scorecards, compliance forums, and creative invention alignment across both internal and customer portfolios.
- Execute procurement digital channels and data analysis, which includes P2P operational structures, e‑procurement resources, dashboards, AI/BI findings; assist process automatic control and findings for strategic judgment.
- Oversee procurement risk, adherence & ESG guidelines, embedding organizational guidelines, audit regulates, supplier ethics, and rule/local customs management across customer and internal collaborations.
- Work alongside cross-operationally with Finance, Lawful, Projects, ESG, and business teams to align procurement activity with business timelines, financial plans, and strategic targets.
- Head, train & grow procurement ability, building teams of category directs, procurement managers, analysts, and customer-service dispatch employees with development, accreditation, and creative invention adoption.
- Track results & financials, pushing cost-to-savings KPIs, customer satisfaction (e.g., NPS), SLA compliance, cycle-time reduction, and income for external procurement solutions.
Qualifications
- Bsc in Stock Chain Management, Business Management or relevant field.
- At least 15 years of procurement expertise, with a minimum of 5 years in a executive guidance role within procurement consultancy, external contracting or divided solutions business models.
- A MSC or applicable specialist certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise supplying procurement as a service to external customers in Africa or emerging markets.
- In-depth understanding in planned procurement, category management, deal discussion, e‑procurement operational structures (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa), supplier benchmarking, and maintainable procurement.
- Robust financial strategic insight – adept at conceptualizing business cases, TCO models, spend data analysis, and demonstrating to C-level decision‑
- Expertise coordinating supplier effectiveness and vendor connections; submitting application ESG principles and risk risk reduction frameworks (e.g. third-party risk evaluations, adherence screening).
