Project assistant at Nuru Nigeria in Biu / Kwayakusar - Borno

Role description

The Project assistant will answer to the Project supervisor to assist the strengthening of local operational structures for building group adaptability and livelihoods through the execution of the agricultural and financial addition intervention. She/he will collaborate with the project officer to offer specialized skill in resilient agriculture with a special concentration on climate-smart agricultural generation, horticulture, agricultural extension, agribusiness & full operational cycle development, and smallholder farmer financial addition. She/he must possess comprehensive expertise in smallholder agricultural intervention, farmer development, and extension solutions

Primary duties

• The Project assistant will offer entire specialized skill and assist the Project officer to productively execute all programme initiatives attentive on agriculture, financial addition, farmer group company, agribusiness enterprise and Earnings Production Activity (IGA), value addition, and nutrition in a maintainable way
• Head all farmer development and capacity-building initiatives through building out a strong development strategy/calendar and development timetable and adjusting development materials to circumstance using suitable development language for farmer relation.
• Directly in charge of coordinating allocated intervention networks and combining the programme initiatives inside the allocated networks making sure full acceptance and ownership by the networks.
• Supply one-on-one extension solutions to farmers and offer other on-farm extension consultative aid offerings to the farmers.
• Actively collaborate with group systems for the execution of all programs through efficient group mobilization and sensitization for group-guided agricultural, and financial addition initiatives with a concentration on delivering the project strategic targets.
• Work very closely with key stakeholders of the farmer groups to advance community-related cohesion through boosted farmers' Savings & Loan initiatives and adoption of good agricultural procedures among the farmers through the establishment of Presentation plots for boosted farmers' earnings.
• Coordinate the establishment of farmer associations and offer assistance in their transitioning into well-organized farmer's entities.
• Assist the M&E team to track programme initiatives, and supply surveys, evaluations, and other supervising initiatives to guarantee that interventions are on track for advancement and boosted effect.
• Offer on a weekly basis on-site documentation, support to every month Activity Advancement Documentation, record and distribute lessons learned, success stories, group response in addition to general situational consciousness inside the networks.
• Execute any other duty that may be allocated/ordered by the Manager.
