IP Project & Execution Engineer at Equinix Nigeria in Victoria Island, Lagos

Position Overview

Proactively Executes Network Fulfilment Initiatives. Highlights concerns and leads solution when necessary. Fulfills the role of train and technical mentor for NSD Engineer 

Duties

• The engineer is in charge of designing, combining and executing IP based solutions on the IPNGN network
• Offering creative network initiatives and compelling OEMs when necessary
• Pushing the MainOne IPv6 plan
• Network design, organizing, management and servicing & maintenance
• IP multicast setup and IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR router deployments
• Making sure expertise move for level-1 IPNOC and applicable teams
• Diagnosing issues and addressing WAN/LAN network access concerns
• Coordinating bandwidth of the IP backbone for most effective effectiveness
• Executing standard procedure checks and servicing & maintenance on all network elements
• Routing procedure diagnosing issues expertise in a large scale network (BGP, IS-IS OSPF, EIGRP)
• Robust expertise arranging and diagnosing issues Cisco routers and switches
• Supervising of network elements and making sure prompt fix and restoration of all faulty/down sites/links.
• Installation, setup and servicing & maintenance of network tools which includes routers, switches and firewalls like Cisco ASA, Fortigate
• Exploring current information repository and make endorsement to enhance operational structures, initiatives and methods
• PMP and Critical thinking

Credentials

• Bachelors Academic qualification Or Equivalent Expertise
• 3-5 years related experience is essential.
• Applicable specialist/technical qualifications like Cisco certified network associate, CCNP, JNCIS, (CCIE is a plus)

• Service supplier expertise in technical solutions like MPLS L2VPN,L3VPN,ISIS,BGP, Segment Routing
• Proven capacity in designing and executing sophisticated, strong results networks with various branches and applications, ideally service supplier networks.
• Scripting expertise is a plus.
