Job Description
Duties and Accountabilities
- Execute routine nursing initiatives in the Migration Health Evaluation Clinic (MHAC)to fulfil the technical qualifications of the resettlement countries in the zones of:
- Medical examinations,
- Such as checking vital signs, weight, height, graphics acuity;
- Blood, urine or sputum collection as necessary;
- Imaging;
- Laboratory running test;
- Vaccinations;
- TB management;
- Treatment and client recommendations;
- Pre-exit standardized processes and medical movements;
- Recordkeeping, accreditation and information transmission; and,
- Other technical zones as may be necessary.
- Offer information and thorough descriptions to the migrants and/or refugees in engagement to:
- The migration health evaluation process; and,
- Treatments and client recommendations.
- Ensure proper recognition and client engagement by:
- Complete record taking;
- Precise and thorough Biodata collection;
- Making sure ID confirmation for each step of the health evaluation process; and,
- Keeping a register of candidates who undergo health inquiries and running test.
- Follow and execute the Health Evaluation Program’s checklists and SOPs and preserve standard universal precautions within MHAC.
- Confirm samples of sputum, blood or others are properly transported to the laboratory or previously appointed site.
- Preserve and track the MHAC pharmacy, inventory, medical kits and crisis kits within the MHAC and for medical escorts if relevant.
- Offer pre and/or post counselling to migrants or refugees on TB or HIV education, prevention and management as suitable.
- Organize managerial documentation and programme updatesas necessary.
- Assist the organizing and implementation of mobile missions if relevant.
- Help withpre-exit documents, briefings and preparations as necessary.
- Execute medical escort obligations when necessary to guarantee migrants accept resumed care throughout all phases of migration (before exit, during the journey and at the concluding destination).
- Preserve cooperative connections with various associates to coordinate client engagement and applicable information exchanging. Associates comprise of internal IOM departments, other health vendors, panel physicians, embassies other UN agencies or Nonprofit organizations and others as relevant.
- Collect statistical information and distribute with the Top level Migration Health Nursing officer or CMHO as per pre- set and accepted-upon document structure.
- Execute other obligations as may be allocated
Expertise:
Outstanding technical competencies,which includes in phlebotomy Development or operating expertise in the zones of Tuberculosis management, immunizations, mental health, communicable diseases, laboratory running test or public health is a plus
Competencies:
- Computerliteracy necessary: MS Workspace suite (Word, Excel,Entry)
- Good expertise of clinical care especially in the Primary or secondary HealthCare settings.
- Good information exchange skillsand proven abilityin operating in a team.
- Counselling, health advancement, publichealth or migration health competencies/expertise is a plus.
- Self-driven, capability to workwith at least oversight; capability to work withtight due dates
- Exhibited capability to preserve description, precision, and secrecy.

Languages: Necessary:
Fluency in English (spoken communication and documented) necessary.
Preferred:
- Operating expertise of the local language.
- IOM’s formal languages are English, French and Spanish.
- Competence of language(s) necessary will be particularly assessed during the selection process, which may comprise of documented and/or spoken communication evaluations.
