Job Description

Position Objective

To guarantee that the finance house's processes, goods, and solutions comply firmly to Shariah principles and standard procedures. The Shariah Regulatory manager is in charge of preserving Shariah compliance, coordinating with with the Shariah Consulting panel (SAC),and offering internal direction on Islamic finance matters.

Primary duties

  • Evaluate all financial goods, agreements, and operational frameworks to guarantee full Shariah adherence.
  • Ensure execution of outcomes and fatwas issued by the Shariah Consulting panel.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to guarantee new goods adhere with Islamic finance principles.
  • Organize and show documentation and recordkeeping to the SAC.
  • Organize SAC sessions and preserve proper records of discussions and decisions.
  • Carry out Shariah audits and assessments on a periodic basis.
  • Track financial record, promotional assets, and customer engagements for compliance to Islamic standard procedures.
  • Endorse remedial actions for any recognized Shariah violation.
  • Educate employees on Islamic finance principles, internal Shariah rules, and compliance obligations.
  • Advance an environment that fosters Shariah adherence throughout the company.
  • Guarantee adherence possessing applicable Shariah compliance frameworks (e.g., CBN, NAICOM, SEC where relevant).
  • Track market trends and modify management on compliance-related modifications and Shariah rulings.

Qualifications & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s or MSC in Islamic Finance, Shariah Law, Islamic Studies, or a relevant field.
  • At least 2–4 years’ expertise in a Shariah adherence or consultative position within a finance house, Islamic microfinance, or financial funding firm.
  • Accreditation in Islamic Finance (e.g., AAOIFI CSAA, CIFE, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Understanding with AAOIFI and IFSB guidelines.
  • Deep knowledge of Islamic financial instruments like Ijara, Murabaha, Mudarabah, and Sukuk.

Essential skills:

  • Sound judgment and honesty and reliability in submitting application Shariah principles
  • Clear articulation and people skills
  • Robust logical and status updates competencies
  • Initiative-driven, meticulous, and capable to operate independently
  • Capability to operate jointly with non-Shariah technical teams (lawful, finance, processes)
