Position Overview

The Payables Accounting officer is in charge of coordinating the outstanding bills process inside the company making sure prompt and precise processing of payments, supervising expenditures, and preserving a thorough document of financial record. This position includes close partnership with the finance team, vendors, and other departments to preserve financial health and guarantee adherence with organisation rules.

Duties

• Process and confirm bills, making sure precise coding, prompt payment, and proper approval.
• Match financial records payable ledger to guarantee all payments are accounted for and precisely posted.
• Manage vendor questions, addressing discrepancies and preserving robust vendor connections.
• Organize and process payment batches, which includes wire transfers, checks, and ACH payments.
• Verify that every payments are conforming with organisation rules, standardized processes, and government rules.
• Preserve precise records of bills, payments, and accounting records.
• Help in end of month closing initiatives, which includes account adjustments and accruals.
• Produce documentation on outstanding bills status, money movement, and expenditure evaluation as needed under leadership.
• Track and track expenditures against budgeted figures, offering findings and recognizing cost-saving avenues.
• Evaluate employee expenditure requests and refunds for precision and adherence.
• Guarantee adherence with financial rules and standardized processes, which includes tax and compliance obligations.
• Help with external and internal audits by getting ready recordkeeping and responding questions.

Competencies & Credentials

• Bsc in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
• 3-5 years of related experience in outstanding bills or general accounting.
• Competence in financial system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Workspace especially Excel.
• CPA, ACCA, or applicable qualifications are advantageous.
• Robust meticulousness and high level of precision.
• Outstanding logical and issue resolution abilities.
• Clear communication competencies, with the capability to coordinate with internal departments and vendors.
• Planning abilities with the capability to oversee various duty and due dates.
• Expertise in accounting principles, rules, and finance reporting guidelines.
