Accounting officer at GEM HR Consulting in Agungi, Lekki - Lagos (Island Residents Only)

Position Overview

The Accounting officer will be in charge of coordinating the organization’s finance records, making sure adherence with accounting guidelines, and assisting the management in strategic budgeting. The preferred candidate must possess background operating within a agile and growing business environment.

Primary duties

• Organize precise and prompt balance sheet and income statement, which includes Profit & Loss, Financial statement, and Money movement documentation.
• Preserve and modify general ledger and financial records using financial system (e.g., QuickBooks or other resources).
• Manage all statutory remittances (e.g., PAYE, VAT, Pension, WHT) and guarantee promptness submitting.
• Track routine financial record and resolve financial statements.
• Track and oversee outstanding bills and receivable.
• Organize wage processing and guarantee promptness remuneration disbursement in partnership with Human resources/Administrator.
• Preserve suitable recordkeeping for all financial record and produce financial statements for management.
• Carry out periodic internal audits and help with external audits.
• Execute and preserve financial regulates and standardized processes.
• Track organisation expenditures and advise management on financial plan compliance.
• Track stock expenditure, procurement expenses, and suggest cost-cutting measures where relevant.
• Assist procurement with cost evaluation and vendor payment strategies.
• Coordinate with external accounting officer or tax advisors where necessary.
• Assist pricing, financial predicting, and financial planning endeavors.
• Protect privacy of all financial data.

Qualifications

• Bsc in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
• 2 - 4 years of applicable accounting expertise, ideally in fashion, in-store, or FMCG.
• Must be at present registered in the ICAN programme and actively drafting specialist exams within one year of acquiring ACA accreditation.
• Skilled in Excel spreadsheet software and financial system (e.g., QuickBooks).
• Robust logical and analytical abilities.
• Outstanding meticulousness and robust planning abilities.
• Robust people skills with the capability to convey financial data transparently.
• Must reside on Lagos Island or surrounding area (Ajah, Lekki, Ikate, Agungi, etc.)
