Position Overview

The Chief of Stores will be accountable for managing the full scope of stores and stock management operation across all operating facilities. This position ensures the productive receipt, storage, and dispatch of a variety of goods, while preserving precise stock records, making sure adherence with organisation rules, and assisting asset assessment and regulate.

Primary duties

  • Formulate and execute efficient store management plans, rules, and standardized processes.
  • Supervise the receipt, storage, and issuance of unedited materials, spare parts, wrapping materials, and finished goods.
  • Ensure most effective stock levels are preserved to assist uninterrupted generation and processes.
  • Head periodic inventory counts and settlement exercises, making sure precision and responsibility.
  • Execute and track stock regulate operational structures to reduce losses, compensation, and obsolescence.
  • Oversee the appraisal of organisation assets stored across all sites, making sure precise status updates and adherence with financial guidelines.
  • Ensure proper coding and batching of all store items for traceability and productive retrieval.
  • Evaluate and authorize store requisitions to guarantee alignment with business needs and budgetary regulates.
  • Preserve an current asset register, making sure all items are properly tagged and documented.
  • Work alongside procurement, generation, and logistics teams to guarantee smooth stock chain processes.
  • Guarantee adherence with health, safety, and ecological rules in all store processes.
  • Oversee and formulate a top-performing team of store officers.
  • Organize and show consistent documentation on stock status, inventory movements, and key indicators to top level management.
  • Lead ongoing development programs to improve effectiveness, reduce expenses, and elevate support levels.

Credentials and Expertise

  • Bsc in Stock Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, or a relevant field.
  • A MSC or a member of a professional body (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is a plus.
  • At least 10 years’ expertise in store or warehouse management, with a minimum of 5 years in a executive function inside the FMCG or production operations sector.
  • Solid understanding of stock management operational structures (e.g., SAP or similar Enterprise platform planning channels).
  • Expertise in asset assessment, tagging, and coding procedures.
  • Verified ability to head and formulate teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding logical, corporate, and analytical abilities.
  • Clear expression and people skills.
