Position Overview
The Chief of TV Station will be accountable for managing the strategic, business, and innovative direction of our television station. This position requires a visionary leader with a solid experience in the media industry, outstanding management abilities, and a strong insight of content formation, programming, broadcast processes, and audience development.
Primary duties
- Offer strategic executive guidance and direction for the TV station’s content, programming, and processes.
- Formulate and execute creative plans to grow viewership, audience relation, and corporate identity visibility.
- Oversee the generation and planning of premium quality television content that aligns with the station’s editorial regulatory framework and industry trends.
- Supervise all operational units which includes news, entertainment, generation, technical, and programming.
- Head and oversee a cross-functional team of producers, directors, editors, on-air skilled, and specialists.
- Guarantee adherence with governance policies, industry guidelines, and organisation rules.
- Oversee financial plans, assets, and income plans, which includes marketing and sponsorship programs.
- Track results indicators, ratings, and audience response to lead ongoing development.
- Stand for the station at industry events, participant sessions, and strategic collaborations.
Qualifications
- Bsc in Mass Information exchange, Media Studies, Journalism, or a relevant field. A MSC is a plus.
- At least 10 years of expertise in the media or broadcast sector, with a minimum of 5 years in a top level management or executive function.
- Established history of coordinating a successful TV station or key broadcast department.
- Deep understanding of the television broadcast ecosystem, which includes content development, technical processes, and legal adherence.
- Effective guidance, information exchange, and people skills.
- Strategic thinking with the capability to adjust to a rapidly continuously adapting media landscape.
- Robust financial strategic insight and expertise coordinating unit-specific financial plans.
- Capability to operate under pressure and deliver within strict timelines.
