Overview

We're looking for a highly skilled Executive manager: Chief of Software Engineering to head and scale cross-operational technical groups in architecting, building, and optimizing top-performing, secure, and ability to scale digital platforms across mobile, backend, and cloud-native channels. This position blends practical technical monitoring with organizational approach, pushing engineering superiority, process effectiveness, and operational base modernization in a sophisticated enterprise environment. You will promote a Development-operations culture, advance nimble implementation models, train engineering directs, and serve as a central point of synchronization between architecture, development, structure, guard, business, and external work collaboratively teams. Your payments will accelerate time-to-market while strengthening business maturity and operational base reliability.

Duties

• Head software engineering dispatch across fullstack (Java) operational structures.
• Lead the technical implementation of the DR-first migration and guarantee preparation for full cutover to Azure.
• Establish and ensure adherence to software engineering industry standards, coding guidelines, and architectural principles.
• Supervise the design and refactoring of solutions for scalability, modularity, and effectiveness.
• Oversee engineering capacity, prioritize technical debt, and ensure sprint throughput aligns with business targets.
• Work alongside Development-operations, Quality assurance, Guard, and Cross-functional teams to guarantee complete service honesty and reliability.
• Train engineering directs and develop a high-effectiveness development culture.
• Serve as a primary stakeholder in architecture decisions and dispatch compliance.
• Advocate engineering superiority, advance an environment that fosters creative invention, and ensure agile development cycles post-migration.
• Play a executive function in upskilling and orientation for the transformed operational base.

Qualifications Education:

Bsc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field. MSC will be an added advantage.

Expertise:

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a executive team or engineering leadership position.
• Exhibited success in coordinating distributed teams and sophisticated system landscapes.
• Expertise top operational base modernization endeavors, cloud migrations, and cross-operational Development-operations transformations.

Specialized abilities:

• Backend: Java, Dotnet, Node.js.
• Consolidation: REST/GraphQL APIs, Webhooks, Kafka, MQs.
• Wallet/Payments: ISO 8583, ISO 20022, PCI DSS, OAuth2, Launch Banking.
• Channels: USSD, Mobile application, POS, Web.
• CI/CD & Structure: Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, Azure/AWS.
• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog.

Preferred Qualifications:

Azure Enterprise solutions architect Specialist or Azure Developer Associate. Qualifications in Nimble (e.g., SAFe, ICP-ACC) or Software Architecture (e.g., TOGAF).
