Safeguarding Head at Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) in Lagos

Position Objective

The Safeguarding Head will supervise the safeguarding, gender equity, and child protection plan of the GATEWAY Programme, making sure that all initiatives uphold the highest guidelines of safety, dignity, and addition. This position is central to embedding safeguarding principles across all programme parts, with a robust emphasis on protecting at risk groups, supporting gender equity, and producing welcoming environments. The Head will offer strategic direction, manage execution, carry out risk evaluations, and oversee issue resolution process mechanisms while aligning the programme with worldwide safeguarding and addition industry standards.

M&E, and Status updates:

• Formulate operational structures to track safeguarding adherence and results across programme initiatives.
• Preserve precise recordkeeping of safeguarding risks, incidents, and risk reduction measures.
• Offer consistent safeguarding documentation to programme executive guidance and donors.

Credentials

• Bsc in community-related work, Gender Studies, Human Rights, International Development, or a relevant field.
• At least 7 years’ expertise in safeguarding, gender equity, child protection, or associated fields, ideally inside international development or creative invention settings.
• Demonstrated expertise designing and coordinating safeguarding programs and rules in Africa.
• Solid understanding of worldwide safeguarding and child protection frameworks (e.g., UNCRC, GDPR for child data).
• Track document in top and coordinating multicultural teams attentive on gender, equity, and addition.
• Comprehension of lawful/compliance-related safeguarding frameworks in Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, and Rwanda.
• Competence in gender evaluation, safeguarding risk evaluations, and child protection reviews.
• Proven expertise in skills development and development dispatch across various participant groups.
• Clear expression, bargain, and collaboration-building competencies.
