Position Objective

The Energy Structure Head will offer organizational approach, executive guidance, and monitoring for Nextier’s energy structure practice. Alongside supplying structure projects, this position requires robust advising proficiency, the capability to convert sophisticated technical findings into implementable plans for customers, management of multi-participant collaborations, and guarantee of principle-based results in line with customer needs. The Team supervisor will draw on comprehensive advising and structure expertise to advise governments, authorities, private developers, and donors, while making sure all projects match with energy transition targets, ESG guidelines, and financial funding viability. This position blends engineering guidance, customer-facing consultative, and team management, positioning the Structure Team supervisor as a reliable collaborator in shaping Africa’s energy future.

Position Qualifications

  • Bsc in Engineering, Economics, Business, Energy Regulatory framework, or a associated discipline.
  • A MSC in Energy, Structure, or Development Studies is firmly preferred.
  • At least 10 years in energy structure, advising, or associated fields, with a minimum of 5 years in executive guidance or team management positions.
  • Proven expertise operating in a advisory firm or consultative environment, with verified ability to oversee customer connections, supply value-added findings, and supervise various collaborations at the same time.
  • Robust track document coordinating sophisticated, multi-participant energy projects (production, transmission, allocation, sustainable operational structures).
  • Proven competence in energy regulatory framework, compliance-related frameworks, and funding mechanisms.
  • Firm knowledge of energy operational structures and technical solutions (renewables, grids, storage, distributed production).
  • Improved comprehension of IRP, power markets, and energy transition plans.
  • Understanding with emerging technical solutions which includes green hydrogen, smart grids, and large-scale storage.
  • Exceptional executive guidance, guidance, and team lead competencies.
  • Robust logical, issue resolution, and critical-thinking capabilities.
  • Clear articulation and participant relation competencies, which includes high-level bargain.
  • Capability to operate productively in customer-facing advising environments.
  • Capacity to oversee various projects in agile, high-pressure environments.
  • Expert level in Office productivity software; expertise in energy modelling resources (e.g., HOMER, PLEXOS, Python, R, MATLAB) is advantageous.
  • In-depth dedication to Africa’s maintainable energy transition and structure development.
