Role description

  • The Livelihood Officer will offer technical and programmatic assist to crisis-affected families and networks to design and execute maintainable, locally-driven livelihood programs.
  • The position concentrates on supporting job avenues, optimizing vocational competencies, and assisting earnings-creating initiatives to reduce vulnerabilities and
  • build adaptability.
  • The candidate will collaborate with caregivers, youth, and young adults to strengthen their livelihood capacity, empowering maintainable earnings production and self-reliance even in crisis situations.
  • Priority will be provided to interventions that supply instant or short-
  • term enhancements in household socio-economic well-being, while laying the foundation for longer-term recovery and adaptability.

Duties

  • The livelihood officer will offer Priority attention to interventions that would possess instant or short-term positive effect on the family’s socio-economic wellbeing, targeting to reduce their risk exposure; e.g. entry to begin-up assist for position formation, entry to low-interest loans for micro-business development, individual competencies development, targeted vocational or entrepreneurship development, position placement, intern, market growth assist, etc.
  • Assist families to recognize ‘differences’ in achieving self-reliance while linking it to the keys to self-reliance based on the development needs of each child within their care
  • Assist families to establish set targets, achievements with timelines and formulate implementable strategies to attain the defined set targets to handle the recognized differences
  • Make sure that the company keeps its obligations, in terms of aid offerings dedicated to in the FDPs action strategies;
  • Empower families to possess upgraded household earnings to actively assist the development of their children and be self-reliant
  • Assist young adults and caregivers in setting up viable small-medium scale businesses with good business strategies and link them to other financing suppliers for business scaling-up and growth
  • Execute competencies-based creative maintainable livelihood group programs that possess a direct and instant or short-term positive effect on the family’s socio-economic initiatives, targeting to reduce the family’s risk exposure and grow their chances of being self-reliant
  • Recognize weaknesses and advantages in the livelihoods initiatives and map the best way advance to improve advantages and minimize adverse effects or weaknesses;
  • Ensure gatekeeping and case management standard procedures are followed in offering particularly tailored interventions targeted at assisting families to achieve self-reliance
  • Carry out initiatives in a group- and rights-based, participatory manner, preserving an Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD), and dispute-sensitive approach for public involvement
  • Guarantee promptness and quality advancement and finance reporting by associates in line with accepted design frameworks and plans
  • Track program execution of associates (service providers, advisors, grantees) in accordance with agreements, work strategies, outputs, and timelines
  • Carry out consistent assessments of the circumstance of the families and the assist offered to them by the program
