Inland Product Owner at Ascentech Services Limited in Apapa, Lagos

Role Overview

As the Inland Product Owner (Local), you will act as the bridge between Zone Sales and Processes to grow lucrative inland volume and enhance the inland product project sample. You will play a main responsibility in conceptualizing the Zone Inland plan and defining the Zone-level Inland aspiration for the next financial plan year (volumes, profit margin, inland distribute, etc.) in alignment with Sales, Processes, and Trade Management.

Primary duties

• Lead the recognition and development of applicable Inland goods (which includes premium solutions) in partnership with Processes and Sales.
• Collect and evaluate market response on possibility transport initiatives across modes and combine product needs into concluding offerings.
• Recognize Inland value propositions and assist Sales with tangible product information.
• Fulfill the role of primary point of reach out for Account Managers on product-associated Inland questions.
• Offer key focuses and business-related goals to Procurement, assisting them in defining SLAs with transport vendors.
• Establish the Inland network plan through evaluation of underserved/overserved sites, tools levels, and requirement.
• Own capacity requirement predicting and actively oversee capacity accessibility and utilization.
• Formulate procurement options for fixed capacities ranging from binding agreements to possibility M&A.
• Recognize and assess possibility vendors, assisting Procurement in talks to enhance and expand the vendor base.
• Strategy and oversee strategic vendor connections.

Qualifications

• Academic qualification in Business, Commerce, Sales, Engineering, Logistics, or relevant field.
• At least 5 years of expertise in shipping, container steering, or inland transport.
• Solid experience in trucking/transmitting (preferred).
• Expertise in product development for trucking corridors with practical business exposure.
• Strategic thinker with robust client-focused mentality.
• Assertive negotiator with meticulousness.
• Expertise operating across Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, and Angola is a plus.
• Expertise in port-based applications (Navis, ICUMS, etc.) and recordkeeping standardized processes.
• Competence in Office productivity software and capability to operate with various operational structures at the same time.
• Robust critical thinking, solution-oriented capability, and high plan.
• Clear articulation competencies, with demonstrated expertise compelling management-level participants.
• Fluency in documented and spoken English (French is a plus).
