Job Description
Overview
We are looking for for 4 Head Advisors (one per state: Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, Katsina) to Carry out Participatory Rural Evaluation (PRA) for the PARSULP Project.
Profile
The recurrent dispute between farmers and herders in Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, and Katsina States possesses resulted in protracted violence, displacement, poverty, and food insecurity. Root causes comprise of economic, political, community-related, cultural, religious, and ecological employee concerns, unhealed trauma, proliferation of small arms, climate adjustment effects, and weak compliance systems. According to the Worldwide Documentation on Internal Displacement (2023), 3,646,000 Nigerians are displaced, with violence between farmers and herders claiming more lives than the Boko Haram insurgency (International Crisis Group, 2021). The NBS Multidimensional Poverty Index (2022) shows poverty rates in Benue (75%), Plateau (62.4%), Kaduna (73.9%), and Katsina (72.7%) that is exacerbated by farmer-herder clashes, desertification, and identity-based violence. To abate the protracted concerns in the states, Worldwide Peace Development (GPD), is executing the project Supporting Agropastoralism Settlement, and Adaptability for Maintainable Livelihood and Peace in Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, and Katsina, States (PARSULP) with financing assist from SPRiNG targeted at nurturing settlement, adaptability, and maintainable livelihoods through agropastoral and agroforestry programs, climate-smart agriculture, and sustained dialogue channels. The Participatory Rural Evaluation (PRA) will serve as a basic-level activity to participate networks, map clashes, recognize asset-use patterns, and co-produce Group Peace and Adaptability Strategies across the 4 states.
Credentials and Expertise
- MSC in Peace Studies, Dispute settlement, Community-related Sciences, Agriculture, or associated fields.
- At least 5 - 10 years’ expertise in dispute evaluation, peacebuilding, or locally-driven programming.
- Established history carrying out PRAs or participatory evaluations in dispute affected zones.
- Understanding with farmer-herder dynamics, agropastoralism, and climate-smart agriculture.
- Robust facilitation, documentation drafting, and verbal abilities.
- Fluency in English and applicable local languages of the allocated state is a plus.
Payment Terms
- 50% payment upon entry and authorization of the inception documentation.
- 50% payment upon entry and acceptance of the concluding PRA documentation
- Payments will be subject to withholding tax (WHT) in line with the Federal Government of Nigeria law.
