Chief of Engineering Building at Jamub Group of Companies in Abuja (FCT)

Position Objective

To offer strategic executive guidance and monitoring of all engineering building initiatives, with duty for organizing, implementation, oversight, and QA of road and building projects. The position ensures projects are fulfilled within scope, cost, time, and quality qualifications, while pushing creative invention, safety, and adherence with engineering and compliance guidelines.

Primary duties

• Offer entire executive guidance and direction for engineering and building projects from commencement to finalization.
• Formulate and execute project plans, implementation frameworks, and technical guidelines.
• Supervise on-site oversight and project implementation, making sure adherence with authorized designs, requirements, and industry guidelines.
• Evaluate and authorize designs, technical/ building recordkeeping, method statements, and assessment/test strategies (ITPs).
• Offer guidance, mentoring, and IT assistance to engineers, PMs, and on-site employees.
• Head QA/quality assurance (Quality assurance/Quality control) methods across all building initiatives.
• Oversee various projects at the same time, making sure dispatch within financial plan, time, and quality requirements.
• Offer guidance and technical direction to PMs, engineers, and on-site employees.
• Coordinate with customers, advisors, authorities, and other participants to settle technical, binding, and business matters.
• Ensure full adherence with health, safety, and ecological (HSE) rules and organisation rules.
• Track project risks and formulate risk reduction plans.
• Lead ongoing development, creative invention, and adoption of modern engineering procedures.
• Organize on a weekly basis executive-level documentation and offer strategic strategic guidance for executive review.

Credentials and Expertise

• Education: Bachelor's degree/ bachelor's in engineering. in Civil Engineering or relevant field (Master's degree/Master of business administration is a plus).
• A member of a professional body: COREN, NSE, or equivalent identified specialist registration.
• At least 15 years’ progressive expertise in road and building building management, with practical on-site engineering profile.
• Established history in on-site oversight, project implementation, and adherence with engineering guidelines.
• Effective guidance and team management capabilities, with expertise top multi-disciplinary teams.
• Improved expertise in building structured approaches, project coordination frameworks, and compliance obligations.
• Competence in engineering/project coordination software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
• Outstanding bargain, information exchange, and strategic judgment competencies.
