Role summary

The Audit officer is in charge of analyzing and optimizing the performance of the company’s risk mitigation strategy, regulate, and compliance methods. The position includes carrying out audits of financial, business, and adherence methods to guarantee precision, effectiveness, and compliance to organisation rules, industry rules, and lawful qualifications.

Primary duties

• Strategize implement, and documentation on internal audit tasks in accordance with the yearly audit strategy.
• Evaluate the adequacy and performance of internal regulate operational structures, rules, and standardized processes.
• Examine finance records, accounting operational structures, and operational frameworks for precision and adherence.
• Recognize risks, weaknesses, and zones for advancement in financial and business regulates.
• Organize audit documentation with findings, strategic guidance, and corrective action strategies.
• Check in on audit strategic guidance to guarantee corrective measures are executed.
• Guarantee adherence with statutory rules, tax legal provisions, and corporate rules.
• Help in fraud discovery, investigative, and prevention.
• Assist management in risk evaluation and risk reduction plans.
• Collaborate with external auditors and compliance-related bodies when necessary.
• Preserve proper recordkeeping of all audit work carried out.

Qualifications

• Bsc in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or relevant field.
• Required location Abuja, ideally around Utako.
• A member of a professional body (ICAN, ACCA) is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise as an Audit officer or in a similar position.
• Solid understanding of auditing guidelines, internal regulates, and risk mitigation strategy procedures.
• Understanding with financial rules and business oversight frameworks.
• Competence in audit and financial system (e.g., ACL, IDEA, QuickBooks, SAP, or other Enterprise platform planning operational structures).
• Outstanding logical, issue resolution, and critical-thinking competencies.
• Robust meticulousness, precision, and honesty and reliability.
