Chief Exploration Geologist at LEKOIL Nigeria Limited in Victoria Island, Lagos

Chief Accountabilities

• Oversee and evaluate geological and geophysical data and project databases.
• Carry out thorough subsurface geological and geophysical assessment to recognize, mature and propose economically attractive exploration potential opportunities and development avenues for drilling.
• Carry out combined technical appraisals and risk evaluations of potential opportunities and fresh opportunities.
• Establish and strategy for additional expert studies in assist of avenue recognition and assessment to reduce risks and uncertainties.
• Carry out assets volume and reserve assessment of exploration assets and site appraisals.
• Carry out thorough geological, geophysical and development studies, which includes well reservoir management, for evaluation avenues.
• Optimize site extension and development to grow reserves and recovery.
• Support to combined geological studies of the reservoirs to enhance site development strategies.
• Support to the productive well design and strategies to reduce drilling risks by offering an precise prognosis of geological information/boundaries, well dispatch plans and possibility drilling risks for the efficient management of processes.
• Propose and hold assessments of potential opportunities for drilling before implementation which includes a strong Quality Well Dispatch process and offer guidance during drilling for efficient cost management.
• Ensure strategic guidance and action points arising from the QA/ Quality assurance process are executed.
• Assess new petroleum sector exploration basins and plays for new business and project sample growth.
• Strategize execute, organize and oversee the purchase of geological and geophysical data, which includes new seismic purchase and processing/ reprocessing.
• Execute all other obligations that are necessary and reasonably attached to this Chief Exploration Geologist role and the fulfillment of its duties.
• Any other duties as allocated by the Manager, Subsurface Development.
