Role summary

The Fleet Officer will be accountable for managing the organization’s fleet of vehicles, making sure they are properly preserved, productively utilized, and conforming with all compliance guidelines. This position requires a practical, meticulous individual with robust corporate and supervisory competencies.

Primary duties

  • Organize and oversee the routine fleet processes to guarantee prompt and productive service dispatch.
  • Track driver initiatives, vehicle usage, and fuel usage to regulate expenses and prevent misuse.
  • Make sure that all vehicles are properly authorized, insured, and roadworthy at all times.
  • Timetable preventive and corrective servicing & maintenance for all vehicles, making sure minimal non-operational time.
  • Track and evaluate fleet effectiveness using documentation and fleet admin systems.
  • Carry out periodic driver development and safety checks to advance adherence with organisation and government rules.
  • Explore accidents, incidents, and vehicle breakdowns, offering prompt documentation and strategic guidance.
  • Preserve precise records of vehicle documents, repairs, and business expenditures.
  • Assist the hiring process, orientation, and effectiveness supervising of drivers.

Credentials & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree Academic qualification / Higher national diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Management, or a relevant field.
  • 3–5 years’ expertise in fleet management or logistics processes.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle servicing & maintenance, transport legal provisions, and safety rules.
  • Competence in MS Workspace (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); expertise in fleet management software is a plus.
  • Effective guidance, information exchange, and analytical abilities.
  • High level of honesty and reliability, responsibility, and meticulousness.
