Role Overview

The Chief of Procurement will offer strategic executive guidance and practical management of all procurement, stock chain, and vendor management initiatives across Mai Shayi Coffee Roasters Limited. The position is central to making sure that every branded product, unedited material, and business item aligns with the organization’s premium quality benchmarks. The successful applicant must bring at least 8 years’ progressive expertise in procurement within high-end dining venues or the service sector, with proven competence in cost optimization, supplier results tracking, and stock regulate.

Primary duties

  • Design and execute procurement plans in sync with the organization’s growth targets, service sector benchmarks, and long-term viability targets.
  • Formulate rules, standardized processes, and guidelines for transparent, productive, and cost-efficient procurement processes.
  • Head procurement organizing cycles, aligning projections with dining venue processes, seasonal needs, and advertising initiatives.
  • Recognize, assess, and onboard suppliers that meet the organization’s quality, ethical, and financial guidelines.
  • Build and preserve long-term, trust-based connections with local and international suppliers.
  • Bargain favorable agreements, pricing, and performance threshold agreements to amplify value for the organization.
  • Constantly evaluate supplier effectiveness against KPIs which includes quality, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness.
  • Establish reorder levels, inventory regulate operational structures, and stock chain tracking software to prevent shortages or wastage.
  • Supervise the procurement of premium coffee beans, branded consumables (e.g., wrapping, takeaway cups/bags), ingredients, tools, and other business necessities.
  • Team up with processes, finance, and store managers to projection qualifications and ensure uninterrupted service dispatch.
  • Execute industry standards for storage, inventory rotation, and shelf-life management, especially for spoiling items.
  • Formulate and oversee the procurement financial plan, making sure cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Observe industry trends, exchange rate fluctuations, and inflationary pressures to expect risks and modify plans.
  • Verify that every procurement initiatives adhere with internal regulates, business oversight, and Nigerian compliance obligations.
  • Offer precise, prompt documentation and evaluation to top level management, highlighting avenues for optimization and risk risk reduction.
  • Head, train, and formulate a top-performing procurement team, nurturing an environment that fosters responsibility, creative invention, and ongoing development.
  • Deliver session and expertise-exchanging sessions on procurement industry standards, adherence, and hospitality stock chain practices.
  • Advance collaboration and partnership cross-functional units to attain divided strategic objectives.

Credentials & Qualifications

  • Bsc in Stock Chain Management, Procurement, Business Management, Hospitality Management, or relevant field. MSC is a plus.
  • At least 8 years of progressive procurement expertise in high-end dining venues, premium experience hospitality, or F&B entities, with a minimum of 4 years in a executive position.
  • Specialist qualifications which includes CIPS, ISM, or equivalent are highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of hospitality procurement operational structures, vendor networks, and international procurement for premium goods.
  • Exhibited capability to bargain sophisticated agreements and supply measurable cost savings.
  • Competence in Enterprise platform planning operational structures, procurement software, and Ms office tools.
  • Exceptional logical, corporate, and analytical abilities.
  • High level of honesty and reliability, ethics, and competence.
  • Effective guidance, information exchange, and people skills with the capability to shape at all levels.
