Job Description
Position Overview
The Treasury Officer will be in charge of coordinating the organization’s liquidity, money movement, banking processes, and treasury initiatives while also managing import-associated recordkeeping and legal adherence, especially Form M processing with banks, Customs, and regulatory bodies. The position ensures efficient financial support utilization, foreign exchange management, and smooth processing of international trade financial record.
Form M & Trade Recordkeeping:
- Process and oversee Form M applications with banks and applicable regulatory bodies.
- Ensure precise recordkeeping for imports (Proforma Bills, LC applications, SONCAP, Coverage, etc.).
- Coordinate with banks, Nigeria Customs Service, CBN, and other compliance-related bodies for authorizations and adherence.
- Track import recordkeeping status and check in until shipment clearance.
- Track foreign exchange (FX) requests and ensure proper utilization in line with CBN standard procedures.
Risk mitigation strategy:
Track and oversee liquidity, FX exposure, and financing risks. Endorse plans to reduce foreign exchange losses and enhance financing.
Credentials & Competencies
- Bsc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or relevant field.
- A member of a professional body (ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIBN) is a plus.
- 3–5 years of expertise in treasury, banking processes, or trade finance.
- Proven practical experience in Form M processing, FX offers, and import recordkeeping.
- Good of CBN, Customs, and trade compliance obligations.
- Outstanding financial evaluation and status updates competencies.
- Competence in MS Excel, Enterprise platform planning operational structures, and banking channels.
- Robust interpersonal and bargaining ability.
- High meticulousness, honesty and reliability, and capability to operate under pressure.
