Job Description

Position Overview

The Logistics Manager is in charge of organizing, managing, and monitoring all logistics initiatives to assist petroleum sector processes and capital projects. This comprises the movement of tools, materials, and staff (onshore and remote marine operations), while making sure cost effectiveness, adherence with Nigerian rules, and compliance to the highest Health, safety, and environment guidelines. The position requires robust competence in marine and aviation logistics, customs clearance, warehousing, and vendor management within Nigeria’s petroleum sector environment.

Duties

  • Head and oversee comprehensive logistics processes covering international trade clearance, warehousing, material managing, and allocation.
  • Supervise marine logistics, which includes remote marine operations stock vessels, harbor operations, and adherence with NIMASA/NPA rules.
  • Oversee aviation logistics for remote marine operations/onshore crew modifications, making sure adherence with NCAA guidelines.
  • Guarantee promptness and conforming processing of licenses, permits, and customs recordkeeping with
  • Nigeria Customs Service, NPA, and other governing bodies.
  • Oversee warehousing processes and stock management operational structures to guarantee proper storage and on-time completion of project materials.
  • Oversee inland transportation and fleet logistics for safe and productive movement of staff and goods.
  • Formulate and execute cost-efficient logistics plans in sync with project plans.
  • Lead Health, safety, and environment adherence in all logistics initiatives, making sure “Objective Zero” (no harm to people, assets, or environment).
  • Oversee logistics service providers and service vendors, making sure agreement adherence and effectiveness against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Guarantee adherence with Nigerian Content Development (NCDMB) qualifications by compelling local vendors and conceptualizing national employees.
  • Organize consistent logistics effectiveness documentation for top level management.

Credentials & Expertise

  • Bsc in Logistics, Stock Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Specialist qualifications (CILT, APICS, ISM) are a desirable asset.
  • 8–12 years’ expertise in logistics/stock chain management, with a minimum of 5 years in a executive position in the petroleum sector sector.
  • Solid understanding of Nigerian international trade legal provisions, maritime and aviation logistics rules.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marine, aviation, and onshore/remote marine operations logistics assist.
  • Competence in Enterprise platform planning operational structures (SAP, Oracle, Maximo) and logistics management software.
  • Robust bargain, executive guidance, and stakeholder engagement competencies.
