Overview

We are looking for qualified and certified candidates for the role of State Project assistant in the Economic Workspace.

Obligations

Under the oversight of the Assistant Economic Counselor, role will oversee Post’s non-PD grants project sample, which includes the Ambassador’s Special Self-Assist programme, the Democracy and Human Rights (DHRF) programme, Julia Taft Financial support for Refugees, PEPFAR Small Grants, Regional Environment Workspace Small Grants, and other non-Public Diplomacy grant avenues the at the U. S. Purpose in Nigeria, making sure all federal support capital are granted and liquidated according to their respective compliance standards.

Education Qualifications:

Two (2) years of tertiary institution studies in Liberal Arts, Business, Finance or Accounting is essential.

Expertise:

Three (3) years of progressive expertise operating with Nonprofit organizations, group groups, or private development is essential. Expertise in project coordination, grant management, grant drafting, negotiating, vouchering, and financial planning is essential.

Language: 

Fluent speaking/reading/drafting in English is essential.

Role understanding:

The role requires an comprehension of local rules overseeing Nonprofit organizations, as the role assessments lawful documents issued by the organizer government to verify qualification and lawful status of entities submitting application for grants.

Competencies And Abilities:

  • Outstanding verbal and professional writing competencies are necessary.
  • Tact and cultural sensitivity in trading with the public are necessary.  
  • Outstanding computer competencies, which includes utilization of programs which includes MS Word, Excel, Outlook is essential.
  • Capability to set key focuses and due dates is essential.  
  • Capability to operate with minimal oversight is essential. 
  • Basic financial recordkeeping, document editing, and DB/spreadsheet abilities are necessary.
  • Outstanding planning abilities are necessary.  Basic calculation and financial planning competencies using Excel spreadsheet software spreadsheets to produce entire programme and individual grant financial plans and to track financial status of individual projects.
  • Must possess typing competencies where precision is essential, but speed is not significant.
