Mechanical Installer at African Steel Mills Nigeria Limited in Ikorodu, Lagos

Position Overview

We are seeking an skilled and dependable Mechanical Installer to join our steel plant servicing & maintenance team in Ikorodu. The successful applicant will be in charge of assembling, installing, preserving, and repairing mechanical parts and machinery to guarantee smooth plant processes.

Primary duties

• Assemble, suit, and install mechanical parts and tools according to technical drawings and requirements.
• Examine, preserve, and fix mechanical operational structures, conveyors, and generation machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective servicing & maintenance.
• Align and modify parts to guarantee proper functioning.
• Operate hand resources, power resources, and precision measuring instruments safely and productively.
• Help in overhauls, modifications, and upgrades of plant machinery.
• Preserve precise servicing & maintenance records and documentation faults to supervisors.
• Follow plant safety rules and use suitable PPE at all times.
• Collaborate with the engineering and generation teams to reduce non-operational time.

Qualifications

• OND, Technical Certification, or applicable trade accreditation in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
• At least 2 years’ expertise as a mechanical installer in an industrial or steel production operations environment.
• Capability to read and analyze mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Robust diagnosing issues and analytical abilities.
• Good physical fitness and stamina for heavy-responsibility work.
• Resides in or around Ikorodu or open to relocation.
