Job Description
Primary duties
- The Pharmacy professional will oversee the pharmaceutical solutions inside the group center, making sure the accessibility, proper storage, dispensing, and recordkeeping of HIV-associated medications and other crucial drugs.
- The Pharmacy professional will also offer medication counseling, assist compliance plans, and work alongside the clinical team to enhance treatment results among elevated-risk populations.
- Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, case managers, CMT, peer educators, and psychosocial employees to dispense ART, PrEP, PEP, STI medications, and other prescribed drugs according to national standard procedures.
- Ensure proper storage, inventory rotation, and stock regulate of all pharmaceuticals.
- Track inventory levels and place prompt orders to avoid inventory-outs or expiries.
- Preserve and modify drug registers, dispensing data records, and bin cards.
- Offer one-on-one medication counseling, especially for ART and PrEP customers.
- Teach customers on proper medication use, compliance, side outcomes, and engagements.
- Assist differentiated service dispatch models (e.g., multi-month dispensing, group ART refill groups).
- Ensure secrecy and sensitivity in trading with at risk populations
- Engage in multidisciplinary case assessments for customers with compliance hurdles or treatment setback.
- Documentation adverse drug reactions (ADR) and assist pharmacovigilance endeavors.
- Educate peer educators, outreach workers, and other employees on safe medication procedures and ART compliance.
- Offer onboarding on pharmacy SOPs and infection regulate procedures.
- Ensure precise and prompt recordkeeping of pharmacy solutions.
- Assemble and send pharmacy documentation to the Monitoring and evaluation team and applicable governing bodies.
- Support to every month and every quarter programme documentation and audits.
Credentials and Expertise
- Bsc in Pharmacy (BPharm or equivalent). Registered with the national pharmacy board.
- At least 2 years of expertise in HIV-associated pharmaceutical solutions, ideally in a group or community health setting.
- Expertise operating with elevated-risk groups is a plus.
- Understanding with national ART standard procedures and stock chain operational structures.
- Competence in pharmacy software, Office productivity software, and health information operational structures.
