Health and Well Being Officer at Howbury School in Lagos

Position Overview

We are looking for a certified and compassionate Health & Well-being Officer who will also act as the School Nursing officer. The successful applicant will offer first assist, oversee student and employees health needs, assist mental and physical well-being, and head programs that advance a safe, healthy, and positive school environment.

Primary duties

• Offer first assist and crisis care to students and employees.
• Oversee routine health matters and evaluate students with illnesses or injuries.
• Manage prescribed medications in line with school regulatory framework.
• Track and oversee chronic health terms (e.g., asthma, diabetes).
• Preserve precise and private medical and health records.
• Strategy and supply health and well-being programs for students and employees.
• Arrange health education marketing on topics like nutrition, hygiene, and mental health.
• Work alongside teachers, parents, and healthcare vendors to assist student welfare.
• Track wellness and regulatory adherence across the school.

Qualifications

• Bsc in Nursing, Community health, or a relevant field (additional accreditation in health education or counselling is a plus).
• At least 2 years’ nursing or school health expertise.
• Registered Nursing officer (RN) or equivalent certification.
• Valid nursing permit/accreditation.
• Clear expression, organisational, and people skills.
• Capability to operate calmly and productively in crises.
• Compassionate, approachable, and dedicated to student well-being.
