Automobile Fabrication Manager - 3W Product at Simba Group Nigeria Limited in Ogba, Lagos

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and process-driven Automobile Fabrication Manager to head the comprehensive fabrication and body-building processes for our Three-Wheeler (3W) product line. The preferred candidate will possess a strong experience in automotive fabrication, sheet metal forming, welding methods, and jig & fixture design, making sure premium quality result through effective guidance, organizing, and process optimization.

Primary duties

• Oversee finalize fabrication processes for 3W product chassis and body operational structures which includes frame welding, forming, trimming, and sub-assembly consolidation.
• Head a team of fabrication technicians and supervisors making sure productivity, quality, and safety targets.
• Organize with Design, Research & development, Quality, and Generation Organizing to guarantee DFM (Design for Production operations) procedures and timelines are fulfilled.
• Supervise tools utility development – which includes jigs, fixtures, and dies for welding and assembly processes.
• Preserve and enhance welding standardized processes (MIG/TIG/Spot), CNC cutting, and bending methods.
• Track fabrication KPIs – return, cycle time, rework %, and head-time – and lead ongoing development (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma).
• Execute and guarantee adherence with ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, or similar quality operational structures inside the fabrication shop.
• Lead compliance to health, safety, and ecological guidelines as per industry norms.
• Carry out consistent development and upskilling programs for technicians and operators.

Credentials & Competencies

• Bsc/Certification in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or associated discipline.
• 6–10 years of related experience in fabrication & body shop processes, preferably in a 3-wheeler or light business-related vehicle segment.
• Robust domain expertise of sheet metal fabrication, welding methods, robotic welding (preferred), and structural assembly.
• Expertise with fabrication CAD resources (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and understanding with Enterprise platform planning and MES operational structures.
• Established leadership, team management, and verbal abilities.
• Understanding with QA resources like FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Evaluation (RCA), PPAP.

Preferred:

• Expertise with 3-wheeler chassis or composite body production operations.
• Qualifications in Welding Assessment, Lean Production operations, or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt).
• Practical experience in setting up new fabrication lines or automatic control cells.
