IP Organizing Engineer at Equinix Nigeria in Victoria Island, Lagos

Position Overview

Will be in charge of making sure proper design for high accessibility in the Core of the Main One IP network through the design and execution of suitable IP based-solutions in collaboration with IT ally companies.

Duties

• Offer direction and direction to team members and other processes teams regarding IP/MPLS structure
• Evaluate setup of network backbone tools to meet requirement
• Oversee IP/MPLS solutions’ execution covering the system setups, running test & handover
• Execute corrective servicing & maintenance for IP/MPLS network
• Produce standard project records which includes thorough test strategy for multifaceted networks
• Verify that every third-party application IP assist agreements are active and operational
• Diagnose issues challenges with network security structure, which includes routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, servers and make corrective actions as required
• Ensure Capacity utilization is tracked, and growth is projected
• Ensure Design and Oversee consolidation of Handled solutions
• Ensure IP assets are tracked and sparing is preserved
• Oversee sophisticated projects including cross operational team

Credentials

• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• 5 - 7 years’ related experience necessary
• Proven capacity in designing and executing sophisticated, strong results networks with various branches and applications, ideally service supplier networks
• Practical experience arranging Cisco and Juniper routers
• Applicable qualifications, ideally JNCIA, CCNP and CCIE qualifications
• Good expertise in relationship building technical solutions - TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, etc.
• Good spoken communication and professional writing competencies
• Schedule control and personal performance competencies
• Connection management
• Project coordination expertise is a plus
